Privacy Policy

This website, opensurvey3d.com, is operated by Laan Labs ("we", "us"). It is the pre-launch site for Open Survey, an open-source land surveying platform currently in development. This policy describes what information this website collects and how it is used. It covers this website only; the Open Survey apps will ship with their own privacy policy when they are released.

What we collect

This site has no user accounts, no sign-up forms, and no comment system. You can read everything here without providing any personal information. We collect only the following:

• Analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived here. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address as part of this process. We use this data in aggregate to see which articles are useful; we do not use it to identify individuals.
• Server logs. The site is hosted on Google Cloud (Firebase), which may log standard request information such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL for security and operational purposes, subject to Google's privacy policy.

What we don't do

• We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
• We do not run third-party advertising on this site.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal details through this site.

Cookies and your choices

The only cookies on this site are those set by Google Analytics. You can:

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings;
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on;
• Use a content blocker — the site is fully functional without analytics.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings and is only accessible to Laan Labs. We keep aggregate statistics for as long as they are useful for understanding readership.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change — for example, when the Open Survey web workspace launches with optional accounts — we will update this page and change the effective date above.
