Project details and browsing

See what a project holds, look through its assets, captures and 3D view without making it active, and export or delete it.

On this page

Tap any project on the Projects tab to open its details. From there you can look inside it (its map, 3D view, asset list and captures) without making it the active project. That means you can check last week's site while you're standing on today's, and nothing you collect will land in the wrong place.

While you're in a project's details, the project strip and tabs step aside. The screen is about that project, not the one you're collecting into.

The details screen

Summary

The first row is the project's status, and it's also the switch:

  • Active project: Everything you collect lands here. Tap DEACTIVATE to put it down.
  • Not active: Collecting doesn't touch this project. Tap SET ACTIVE to make it the active project.

A badge next to the status shows what kind of data the project holds: RTK (at least one RTK fixed or float position), GPS (field positions without RTK), or DESIGN (only imported design data).

Below that: Coordinate system (name and EPSG code), Created, and Last activity (when the newest asset was added).

Contents

Each count opens the project's contents. Rows with a count of zero are greyed out.

Row Opens
Assets (Points, lines, and areas) The read-only browser, on its list view.
Captures A list of every photo, video and 3D scan, with a breakdown such as 4 photos · 1 video · 2 scans.
3D scans (Meshes, point clouds, photo scans) The same list, showing only scans.

Opening contents doesn't change which project is active.

Quick actions

Action What it does
Continue survey Takes you to the Survey tab. If the project isn't active, it becomes the active project first.
Set as active project / Deactivate project The same switch as the status row.
View on map Opens the read-only browser on the 2D map.
View in 3D Opens the read-only browser on the 3D site model.

View on map and View in 3D are greyed out when the project has no assets.

Rename, export and delete

  • Rename: type a new name and tap Save.
  • Export bundle: builds a ZIP of the whole project and opens the share sheet. See Export bundle for what's inside. This works for any project, active or not.
  • Delete project: asks Delete "name"? and warns that every asset, photo, and 3D scan in this project is removed. This can't be undone. Deleting the active project leaves you with no active project.

Browse a project (view only)

The browser opens full screen with the same map, 3D view and asset list as the Survey tab, but nothing in it can change the project. There's no , no type button and no crosshair. In their place, a VIEW ONLY badge shows the number of assets.

  • 2D / 3D switches between the map and the 3D site model.
  • The list button shows the assets. Tap it again to go back to the map or 3D view.
  • Tap an asset (a pin, a 3D marker or a list row) to see its details, read-only.
  • Done closes the browser.
  • Survey here makes this the active project and takes you to the Survey tab to collect.

The map opens framed on the whole project, not on your location.

In the list

If your device supports it, Find these in AR is at the top of the list. It opens the AR view for this project's assets, so you can walk to them through the camera. See Find assets in AR.

In 3D

The 3D view has the compass (tap to face north), the layers button, and the measure button. With measuring on, tap points on the terrain or on assets to measure between them. The result shows in a chip at the top left. See Measure and profiles.

The browser only shows a 3D site model that was already built and saved for this project. It never downloads terrain or builds a new model, so it can't disturb the active project's site model or use data in the background. If no model was ever built, a chip reads No site model built for this project and assets sit on flat ground. To build one, make the project active and use the Survey tab's 3D view. See 3D site model.

If the project has no positions at all, the 3D view says Nothing to place in 3D.

Captures and 3D scans

The Captures and 3D scans lists show one row per item, newest first:

  • a thumbnail
  • what it is: Photo, Video, Mesh scan, Point cloud or Photogrammetry model
  • the asset it's attached to
  • when it was taken

Tap a row to open the capture's record, read-only. For a scan, that's where you'll find when and how it was georeferenced and which asset it belongs to, with the 3D view one tap further in. See Capture library.
